The devices used in a mist fan

The installation of a mist fan and a fogger has gradually developed from the past. The process becomes easy, fast and convenient. In the past, when we talk about the installation, we may think of hiring an expert to perform this task and when there are problems, we are unable to troubleshoot them ourselves. We need to call a technician which costs an extra pay and it is also a waste of time.

However, presently, a mist fan and a nozzle are designed to be easily installed, fixed and maintained by users themselves. This saves their time and money. Now we will suggest the way to install and fix a mist fan and a fog nozzle.

Then in the first step, we will get to know the instruments used in a mist fan and a fogger. There are four main devices as followings;

A high pressure pump. This is used for producing high pressure up to 70 bar (1,000 PSI) to force water through the nozzle. Water becomes the tiny droplets.

  1. A fog nozzle. This is a device for spitting water received from high pressure pump. Water will be sprayed through its tiny hole in order to make small droplets of water for they will evaporate faster than usual. Once vapor evaporates into air, air will react in exchanging the whole weather pattern. Consequently, temperature has been reduced up to 5-10 degree Celsius according to the number of the nozzle used and also the environment.
  2. A connector. There are various kinds of connectors; for instance, socket, bend, cord end sleeve, cord sleeve, tee connector. All connectors are utilized for connecting the whole system to be as we plan. All are specially designed for a specific purpose. They will make your work done easily and conveniently. They require no extra instruments and they are durable.
  3. A sprinkler. It can be made of stainless, copper, or HDPE pipe. All are specially designed for the system. It is therefore durable and economical.

The steps taken to install the fog nozzle

  1. Firstly, we need to prepare the stuffs as followings;

  1. Unfold the HDPE pipe.


3. After finish unfolding, run the pipe as your preference


4.  After finish running the pipe, you plan how much nozzles to be used and where it will be located. Then cut HDPE pipe. 1 centimeter of the pipe should be left out unused.

5.  Put the connector on.

  1. Use no. 17 wrench to tighten the connector

7.  There is a tip in wrenching the connector. Whatever direction you would like to turn the nozzle, use the wrench to turn the connector in that way. Then use another wrench to lock the central part stand still and use the other one to screw the lateral part of the connector.

  1. Repeat the same process for the both side

10.  Do the same process with all connectors.

11.Put a fog nozzle on the connector. Twist it by hand, fairly fit.

  1. After installing all fog nozzles, turn the machine on. Here comes our dearest masterpiece!

Remark: Suggestions for the first-time installation of the pump after installing the system.

  • Put on every nozzle but leave the last one.
  • Let water into the pump
  • Turn the switch of the pump on
  • Let the pump work for a moment to bleed air out of the system. We can see that water is forced out from the last connector that we have not put on the nozzle. Wait until water spouts stably.
  • Turn the pump off and put on the last nozzle that we left open at first.
  • Turn the pump on again. The fog will not let you down.

Cautions in installation

  1. All connectors should be tightly screwed.
  2. Water transferred to the pressure pump should be purified by a water filter.
  3. Water transferred to the pressure pump should contain a slight pressure in water itself. The high pressure pump should not directly drain water from the container.
  4. The pressure should not be adjusted exceeding 70 bar.
  5. The pressure pump should not be installed outdoor.
  6. The pressure pump should be installed in a well ventilated area.

Cautions in usage

  1. The pressure should not be adjusted exceeding 70 bar.
  2. The fog nozzle should be carried out the maintenance regularly.
  3. Water supplied to the high pressure pump should be of a stable pressure.
  4. A lubricant should be changed strictly according to the date stating in a schedule.
  5. A lubricant used must be only number 10-w40
  6. A water filter should be regularly cleaned and change according to a schedule.
